Howard Fishman is a leading authority on the life and music of Connie Converse, and is currently on a speaking tour to celebrate Converse’s centennial year, in conjunction with his book To Anyone Who Ever Asks: The Life, Music, and Mystery of Connie Converse (Dutton/Penguin Random House).

Howard has also delivered talks on other topics covered in his culture writing including: Eugene O’Neill, Susan Glaspell, Bob Dylan, David Lynch, The Shaggs, Cordell Jackson, and Greil Marcus’s “The Old, Weird America.”

Howard also conducts master classes and workshops that draw from his three decades as a professional bandleader and composer. Topics include: Songwriting and Improvisation, Interpreting the American Songbook, and Building a Career as an Independent Musician
