"we are destroyed" gets a new look at New York Theater Workshop

"we are destroyed," Howard's music theater piece inspired by the Donner Party tragedy of 1846, has been selected for a new showing at NEW YORK THEATER WORKSHOP's "Monday@3" series in April.

Though the new workshop showing is not open to the public, it represents a new step forward for the project, which has been seen in previous iterations (and in various stages of development) as a concert, an oratorio, and a play with music.

More details to come...

"A Star Has Burnt My Eye," Howard's music theater meditation on the life and work of Connie Converse, is out on tour in December, with shows at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY; at the Vermont Arts Exchange in Bennington, VT; and at Castleton (VT) University.

This brand new iteration of the show is once again directed by Paul Lazar (who directed the world premiere at BAM in 2016), and features Howard performing with fellow musicians Dina Maccabee, Charlotte Mundy, and Osei Essed.

Read about it in Saratoga Today and in The Bennington Banner.
